Tree removal permits and tree conservation plans on private property are inspected and administered by the Division of Engineering. 

As well, the division inspects and administers all site improvement permits on private development.  Site Improvement Permits or Site Improvement Permit Waivers are required prior to application for a construction permit from the Construction Code Official in the Code Enforcement Division.

Stormwater management is regulated through Engineering.  The stormwater ordinance is Title 34 of the Township of Edison Code of Ordinances, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.  These regulations are in effect as of April 3, 2008.

Engineering administers flood zone development permits conforming to flood damage prevention ordinance.
